A DASH WITH THE DEVIL (WRITTEN DECEMBER 2015)

A Dash With the Devil, By: Anisha J. King

Every now and then, I do a dash with the Devil, a dance with the Devil. Yeah, he grabs hold and whispers in my ear, he tries to tempt and seduce me with sweet lies and tall tales.
He tells me his pain is my gain.
He smiles to my face and attempts to desecrate my soul.
He tries to destroy the things I hold dear at my core, tries to rob me of my joy.

But that dumb Devil, what a fool he is. To think he can uproot a foundation built on firm ground. Hah! I laugh at you and all that you represent.

You can do your dance, try your games, but it is I who'll have the last say. You don't stand a chance. So dance away, dash away, my time with you has gone away.
